Over 5,000,000 Served

On October 4, 2025 I posted 4,000,000 Served. On that post I sez:
"Well this time it only took from June 7 last year until now (October 4) to pass the 4,000,000 mark. So for a "backwater blog" like I've got going here, I'm even more more mightily chuffed. I have you all to thank for making my journey here so rewarding. You are the best."

Previosly it took from 2007 until July 2017 to reach 1 million, then from July 2017 until October  27, 2021 to reach 2 million, then from October 27, 2021 until June 4, 2024 to reach 3 million, then from June 4, 2024 until October 4, 2025 to reach 4 million...an ever accelerating rate that had my head spinning.

Well, over night last night (April 23) my visitor count passed the 5,000,000 mark. So in less than seven months I’ve had another one million visits. I don’t even know how to express my gratitude to all of you who come by here for a look or a listen. The only reason that I do what I do is all of you. All I can really say to you out there cruising the interweb searching for musick is...

Thank you so much. I am truly overwhelmed, You all are what keep me going & I salute you.

  2. My heartfelt congratulations, Nate. This is an excellent blog run by the nicest person in the world of music blogs.
Since I started following NSS, I have read so many inspiring write-ups and downloaded masses of wonderful albums that have provided me with rewarding listening sessions.
And most recently the massive Rapoon/ZF competition has been a particularly pleasant experience for me (not for everybody else, I think, but well ...). Keep up the good work!

  4. It's a pleasure to come here every day. I'm discovering great new music at an unprecedented rate, so the numbers reflect your commitment to enlightening us. As the increase appears to be exponential, you can look forward to the next doubling in a few months, then weeks etc. More power to you, Nate. It's all down to you.

  7. Congratulations, and thank you. I started learning about your blog when someone mentioned that you had posted a series of African albums. I saw that there was more to this blog. So I started following silently. In the last few year more actively and I like it more and more.

  8. Congrats. And thank you for staying the course over the years. So many of the fun, offbeat corners of the net have faded away. Cory Doctorow is so right.

  9. This is one of the coolest, smartest, most interesting blogs, music or otherwise. I stop by daily; it's nice to know I am far, far, -from the only one. Gives one hope.

    1. Thanks Eric S. You are one of millions but still just one of a kind. I'm always thrilled when I hit any of the million milestones but I never forget that it is all the individuals that touch me. Tens of thousands, nay Hhundreds of thousands just come by for what they can share & that's why I'm here, but the few hundreds who comment, leave infornation, share links or request, make the vibe that folks often mention. I see you commenting on various other blogs that I visit & I'm honored to have you as a member of the family. It ain't Nothin' without you.

    Just missing 5042600 served, Oups!

    1. You’ll catch up in no time. It’s the first ten years that are the slowest.

    1. Congrats, Diego. You win the prize for guessing how obvious I am. Talk about site traffic, then...
Stay well, my dear friend. Hope you're set for autumn.
