Invisible Chains

UPDATE: This post was re-uploaded 10/19/2013. Enjoy, NØ.

Shortly after her first role in Gary Kail's Zurich 1916, Carla Bozulich, at that time working under the stage name Carla Noelle, was cast in a supporting role in Hollywood producer/guitarist Joseph "Eightball" Halzman's Invisible Chains for New Alliance. Catch this rare & hard to find performance here...

Invisible Chains - Invisible Chains, New Alliance Records NAR 021, 1986.

  8. Wow -- it's really great to see this here and it brings back a lot of memories. Richard Simmons and, especially, Rich Costigan were some of my best high school friends in the early 80s. As I mentioned in the more recent Carla Bozulich post, I knew her briefly as well but was better friends with her Brother before they moved to another school. I used to drive Rich C. to Halzman's house in the early gestation period of Invisible Chains and heard some of their early experimental recordings they did together. I left for college before Carla joined and they recorded this or there's a good chance Rich would have talked me into banging on something too, to get a ride to the recording session if nothing else, lol! Interesting times!

    1. Thanks MrDave for you personal vignettes. Always love hearing about folks that get posted here. Especially with Carla et. al being a favorite of mine. I've always had a special love for this release, I posted it more times than any other reposting.

    2. No Carla but here's an early version of "Sal Mineo Youth Growing Up" with just Joey 8 and my high school pals Richard Simmons and Rich Costigan (aka Rich Polysorbate): https://youtu.be/rVMIrvRP484

Speaking of Invisible Chains bassist Richard James Simmons, younger brother of "Rock Bottom" of "Rock Bottom and the Spys," you wouldn't happen to have his own 2016 album Sweet Birds of Youth would you?!? It sounds pretty great from what I've heard from it and has Joey Burns and some other notable contributors https://youtu.be/qxrPpg6BwP8

Here's the pretty great 1978 LA Punk "Rich Girl" single by Rock Bottom and the Spys while we're down this rabbit hole: https://youtu.be/qxrPpg6BwP8
