On the Move - Temporary Closure

Closing down the rodeo for a couple months. Relocating back to the right coast, to my natal native soil of Penns Woods. I’ll check in occasionally & try to address any issues, but I'm leaving you with this.

Some flicks, TeeVee, & books to fill in your time 'til I return. My tastes in other forms of entertainment may seem as outré as my taste in music, but give 'em a try if you know 'em or not. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I'll be back...

    1. The move is predicated on the fact that the company I had worked for for nearly twenty years having closed & my being laid off. It actually forced me out of the rut I had gradually dug for myself over the passing years. Returning to long buried roots. Long unvisited family & friends. I also hold out hope for the better. Thanks for the comment.

  6. Amazing; thank you. Hope the trip is smooth and the adjustment as well.

FYI, I teach a first year seminar class in which Marcus is, more or less, the texbook for the second half of the course (I lead with Deleuze & Guattari's "Rhizomes" and some "case studies"). _Lipstick Traces_, IMAO, is an overwrought, eurocentric, male dominated (and, however weird, and they are, largely straight-ish, eurowhite males) mess. It is also, it seems to me, a dazzling go at providing a tool with which to arm ourselves. Inevitably they fall for dada and the Situs in roughly equal measure(s). One time I tacked on Codrescu's _The Posthuman Dada Guide: Tzara and Lenin Play Chess_ and was disappointed they did not play well together, at least for teh kidz, though that it probably more on me. Yo no se.

  7. Lipstick Traces is nothin' if not a hot mess. But I believe it was Greil's honest stab at "what the fuck is punk?".
