Not the Red One, but the Black One

Zero_ii sez:
Disco Club was a one-off collaboration between French producers Bernard Fevre & Jackie Giordano, who credited themselves respectively as Joachim Sherylee & Junior Claristidge. Originally released on Italy's Out label in 1978, Disco Club became slightly infamous in the disco underground despite its extreme scarcity. Don't let the Disco tag fool you though, this isn't your typical by-the-books, happy-go-lucky type of disco, but rather its dark atmospheric electronic doppleganger.

It was made manually in a recording studio in the suburbs of Paris using synths, occasional tape loops, & a drummer. No midi or computers. According to an interview given by Bernard Fevre in January 2007, Jacky Giordano only financed the recording sessions. His being credited as co-composer was just a deal for recouping his financial investment.

Clearly a 'What The Fuck Is This?' download. Sometimes though they really pay dividends. Fingers x-ed for a goodie!

    1. If you like disco, then I don't know. If you like bizarre electo, then probably. Not everyone's dance craze.

  3. Thanks NØ, I went back and grabbed it. The comments on YouTube for this album are pure gold:
    a stunning DISCO album. definitely
the moroder's evil brother. pure gold 🖤
and: I feel like I found a free pass to a very private club, with unhealthily good music blasting through giant old school speakers, on which the janitor will pick up about 50 g of coke when he cleans up the place around 8 o'clock. That is how he can keep up with that shitty job and shitty life. The coke he gathers with his handheld vacuum cleaner helps him get through the day, as he hums at McDonald's, trying to emulate this strange, very filtered voice. Thank you fortal12.
