    2. Their song "UXA" is one of my favorites on this record, as well as "Jezebel" and "Strange Notes". Darby, Michael Kowalsky, and Chris D. all wrote amazing lyrics. Negative Trend was from SF too!

  4. Hi N0 I am really digging the Moody Boys posts about Tony Thorpe. I am interested in his work with The KLF. You referred to "asking nicely" for any of his KLF work. I would love to hear more about this. Thank you. Love your Blog

    1. Thorpe previously worked with The KLF/JAMs as part of "in-house" remixers The Moody Boys, with their versions of hit singles like ‘3.a.m. Eternal’ and ‘Last Train To Trancentral’ released as separate 12" records. Thorpe’s KLF work included ‘What Time is Love?’. He’s also credited as an "additional performer" on the KLF’s The White Room album.

Thorpe developed a creative partnership with KLF which stretched back to their incarnation as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu when a 400 Blows remix of ‘Don’t Take Five’ was rejected. Instead he became KLF’s ‘Breaks, beats and samples’ controller, and remixed both the debut cut of ‘3am Eternal’ and the follow up chart topping version for which Thorpe was given full publishing – despite it being a remix.

Also of interest might be Various Artists - Tony Thorpe Presents: Post Punk Theory 13 track 2xLP accompanied by an extensive 40-page fanzine written by Matt Annis (Join The Future).

In 2023 the KLF released this:
KLF KARE (Tony Thorpe featuring Ricardo de Force) - ‘Everybody’s Talkin’ At Me’ billed as a ‘premix’ of Harry Nilsson’s ‘Everybody’s Talkin’ At Me’.

As in the ‘Live from the After-Life Party’ premix by Tony ‘FUUK’ Thorpe. It being the winner of the first ever Kareovision Kristmas Song Kontest.**

*KLF KARE is a multinational franchise that provides branding solutions for independently owned care homes.

**Kareovision Kristmas Song Kontest is a recorded song contest for the strictly over 65s who are also residents in KLF KARE homes. The songs they chose to record (or premix) can be of any genre from the 60s all the way through to the 90s and beyond. As you may guess Tony ‘FUUK’ Thorpe chose to go for the ‘Peak Nineties’ genre as defined by Andy Weatherall. 2023 was the inaugural year of the Kareovision Kristmas Song Kontest. Those that have read the novel 2023 by The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, especially page 370, might have a better understanding (or not) of the above.

And remember don’t trip while attempting to catch that last train to Trancentral.
