Oval emerged from the Darmstadt, Germany music scene in 1991. The group included Markus Popp, Sebastian Oschatz, Frank Metzger, & Holger Lindmüller. Lindmüller left the group about 1993. Oval became a trio, then Sebastian Oschatz & Frank Metzger left in 1995. Since then Oval existed as the solo project of Markus Popp.
Oval masterfully create experimental Ambient music juxtaposing soft, flowing, pastoral soundscapes with more abstractly harder digital sounds. This is the final release by the trio before Popp continued on his own. While the 1995 German version has only five tracks, this US release has two extra tracks, "Customer Server" & "Shop in Store".
