Tamikrest is one of the top Tishoumaren bands of all times. Tishoumaren or assouf is more commonly known as desert or Sahel blues. This is an original style of music from the Sahara region of northern & western Africa, a fusion of blues & rock music combined with Tuareg, Malian or North African music.
The word Tamikrest means both alliance & the future in the Tamasheq language. Tamasheq is
a Berber language spoken by approximately 1 million Tuareg people across the Sahara & Sahel, primarily in Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Algeria, & Libya. As a nomadic or semi-nomadic culture, Tamasheq speakers are known for their rich oral traditions of poetry & music.

Chatma est mon préféré !
ReplyDeleteJ'adore leur participation à ce morceau des Tunng (Tamanant Tilay sur l'album This Is Tunng ... Live From The BBC / 2011)

Je parlerai d'ailleurs de cet album le 22 O4.
Merci Sorgual pour ton commentaire et le lien vers Tunng. J'espère que tout le monde ira jeter un œil à ton article du 22.
DeleteThanks for the desert blues NØ! J'aime toujours le blues du désert ! C'est très apprécié. Puis-je vous proposer du Gnawa Diffusion ? I know they're gnawa, which is another North African musical tradition, but I can't think of desert blues without thinking of the wars for freedom of those desert peoples and the role of the conflict in creating and spreading this music. Gnawa Diffusion's very assertive pro-freedom fighter tunes seem like they're called for in these times. https://pixeldrain.com/u/mEpXJK3V pw: cowboy
ReplyDeleteHowdy NØ, I posted two versions of the same concert. Please replace the link in my last post with this link: https://pixeldrain.com/u/mHXuGk3P pw: cowboy. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment & the link. I can't really edit other people's comments so just had to put both & folks will have to figure it out for themselves. Gnawa is another great African music that I like & have shared as well. Good to hear from you once more. Hope you're staying safe.
