Plagiarism® is a collective vision. It is also the registered trademark (with tongue deeply in cheek) of the Tape-beatles, originally the Iowa City duo of Lloyd Dunn & John Heck.
They set out to create music without using musical instruments. Their sampling was a conscious attemp at cultural & economic usage of so-called copyrighted material. They were influenced by the audio collage work of French concrete musicians, such as Pierre Henri & Pierre Schaeffer as well as a few other modernist composers like Edgard Varèse & John Cage.
