On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Slinging tuneage like some fried or otherwise soused short-order cook. Embiggening the earholes

Nation Lights the Fuse

Wanted to share a couple hot releases from cool Nation Records. Nation Records was started in Ladbroke Grove UK by Propa-Ganhi of the band Fun-Da-Mental (real name Aki Nawaz).

As his philosophy, Aki sez:
"It has always been based on an idea from the punk era, be radical musically and politically, never work by the book, re-invent the rules and then re-invent them again when those rules become the norm."

I've shared favorites of mine from Nation Records roster before: Natacha Atlas & Transglobal Underground; the above mentioned Fun-Da-Mental; “Radio Morocco” by Pulse 8 (Jah Wobble & friends); the Macro Dub Infection I shared recently; Asian Dub Foundation & too many more to name.

This first one is the first one for Nation. #001 is a compilation introducing the world to the cultural hybrid which fused bhangra & Latin with house / techno rhythms through then unknown artists such as Mahatma T (now better known as Talvin Singh) & Pulse 8 (which included the musicians from On-U-Sound, David Harrow with Jah Wobble & Justin Adams) that I shared as My Radio is Picking up Morocco here
