On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

In the Temple of Roy

The duo of Richard(s) Van Spall & Tindall of Windsor, Berkshire UK teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Mick Bund from the band Felt (hence the band moniker???) to form Templeroy in the early 90s. They only released this one full-length, the 3xLP Deaf & Dumb, in 1995.

I am sharing the Echo Beach re-issue from the EB Serious Classics series. It is much edited down. I have added numerous other tracks from the original release that I have been able to gather together over time plus two Dubometer versions.

If anyone has a copy of the original 3xLP, please share it with me, I’m begging.

  2. Thank you!
I wonder if you like Felt?
I adore Lawrence sooo much, from the beginning in 1979 to his many Mozart monikers today.
And i do not see him as a tragic figure who could have been so much bigger in pop music but as a rare example of an artist being true to himself - a real genius!

    1. I'm kinda torn between liking them & not. They have some songs that are great & some I personally think are kinda "m'eh". So many personnel changes, the switches in style, the large number of instrumentals when vocalist Lawrence was questionably the star, all made for a mixed back for me. Although Mick Bund was only a short-term member, his passing in 2017 was a sad loss.

    2. I do listen to Absolute Classic Masterpieces quite regularly. I think the mix of tunes is well thought out (it contains Elizabeth Fraser's early contribution & of course "Templeroy"
