  1. I would have gone for The Shamen this time, but I noticed this is the cd version, not the 12'' with the Deep Dub, which makes a pop single into techno cult classic. Loved that mix, used it first minutes here and the last minutes there, nice track to mess around with. Helas, you offered a substitute, and that one didn't score.
The Dreadzone gives me The Warning cd in stead of Life Love & Unity
And since The Warning is a true warrior anthem it deserves my point

    1. Thanks Richard. Since The Warning was intended for tomorrow's Dreadzone offering, I'll credit your score tomorrow. If you want another vote for today, be my guest (oh, that's right, you already are). Sorry about your Shamen issue. I simply share what I have, that's all that I can do. If you have a better version, share it with us all.

    2. No problem. I know you share what you have, and what you want, and you did not compile the cd. The Shamen missing my vote is all their own doing.

  2. Hi No, as much as I love Dreadzone, the upload is a different disc. Cheers Sam

    1. Thanks, Sam (& Richard). I put the incorrect link for Life, Love, & Unity. I have fixed it. Sorry for any problems. The Warning is tomorrow's Dreadzone offering, so you all have it a day early. My bad.

  5. A Certain Ratio. Classic late ACR bringing some of their earlier distinctive sounds into their later slicker 'fatter' tracks. Their strongest challenge yet. The 'also-rans' are going to have to pull out all the stops to better this!

The Shamen. Yep, this 'Techno' is doing nothing for me in any real way. Sorry Shamen…

Utah Saints. The golden age of 'House' was Acid and I'll die on that hill. DJ Tims's Bliss mix stripped the track down enough to please me; but is it still the Utah Saints?

Dreadzone. The tracks got better as I worked down the track listing... The Drumhead mix is to my liking, the Technova mix more so with it's Drum & Bass take on the track. Simpler, repetitive, fat deep bass. Disco Dread mix - also working for me. A strong showing from Dreadzone.

A Certain Ratio takes the win again today, but Dreadzone comes a close second. I think it's the vocals on Dreadzone that I don't get on with; the remixes that strip out and simplify the tracks please me more.

  6. What has unfolded for me over the past week is not that ACR is a consistent favorite (fully to be expected for this dirty punk), but that I REALLY like the Shamen in all their remixed glory.
I've also learned I'd never skip past a Utah Saints song in the eternal shuffle. It's been nice to hear some of their catalog, even if it's not something I'd seek out.
As for Dreadzone: well, thank goodness I have stacks and stacks of JA dub, since this has me reaching for the "forward" button.

    1. Good to hear from you, Cap'n. Glad to hear some praises for The Shamen & Utah Saints. It's been scarce enough so far. Sorry youaren't enjoying Dreadzone. They aren't really Dub but dreadsome. You didn't cast any ballot choices for the Leader board, but thanks so much for the comment.

    2. I'm always a day late and a dollar short, NØ. Hence no votes.

    3. Hey, J.mo, day late & $ short don't matter round these parts. no deadline on comments or voting. Throw'em out there, see if they stick.
