On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Living in a TENT

Electric Noise Twist was Alex Buess, Christoph Fringelt, & Markus Kneubühler.

Alex Buess is a saxophonist, composer, producer. He has collaborated with Peter Brötzmann, Toshinori Kondo, Bill Laswell, Tim Hodgkinson, & many other musicians in the wide field of improvisation, electronics, electro/acoustic music. Buess has written compositions for various contemporary music ensembles & works as a producer / sound engineer.

Christoph Fringeli is responsible for the Vision & Praxis labels. Vision was a label project from Basel, Switzerland, founded by Christoph in 1986 & finished in 1992. The material released by Vision were not limited to cassettes / records but also included printed materials / visuals. These items included fanzines, posters, t-shirts & like the recordings, received catalogue numbers. Vision evolved into Praxis, which was both a label & a record shop for harsh experimental electronic music led by Fringeli based in Berlin (first located in London/UK, then in Berlin/Germany, then in Basel/Switzerland, now again in Berlin/Germany).

Markus Kneubühler plays synthesizers, mostly concentrating on free-Jazz experimental noise.

The three got together to create Electronic Noise Twist as a project for Fringeli’s Vision label.

Here Fringeli plays guitar & provides vocals, Kneubühler plays bass & manipulates tapes, & Buess plays saxophone & drums making wild, crazy Blurt-like jazz/industrial crossover.

  2. Once again, yo ho! More of weird, pleaseandthankyou. Now if you'll excuse me, i'm off into your cellar to see if i can find any Liquid Liquid, because i bought an album of arch noise weirdness today by Liquid Idiot/Idiot Orchestra - oddly enough, very cheaply, to say i bought it off a 'flipper' (one of those types who buys cheap in order to sell at considerable profit to themselves) - and i'm keen to listen to what they evolved into.

    1. Before Liquid became double Liquid they were Liquid Idiot. Also they performed as the Idiot Orchestra. The release you bought "very cheaply" contains some rather rare material from Liquid Idiot & the Liquid Orchestra. The original 7" releases were in very limited numbers. Did your copy happen to have the 16 page 'zine? Great score, I'd say. Sorry I've never shared any LL here, but if you don't find anything to listen to, let me know. I believe I have a few of their releases filed away.

    3. Umm, while we're on the subject of y'day's purchases (and things i know little about), i also got a gloriously low-fi racket of an album called 'Terd Album', & by Subtle Ternhips. It's on HoZec Records, from 2010. Can you train your mighty radar on this obscurity please? Did members go on to other things etc? Sorry to put you on the spot, ol' bean, as your radar is far more attuned to these outer limits. Discogs has next to nish on them.

    4. As to Liquid Liquid, give me a day or two to dig out what I have & clean it up.

As to Subtle Turnhips...Terd is indeed the 3rd album from Subtle Turnhips. They are a fuckin’ flacky buncha punks from France, They started out around 1992 & released the 7“ Fromage A Patou then fell quiet for many years, re-appearing in the early 00s. They are still active, having released Septentinoriel this year after another quiet period of about seven years. They are part of the Terminal Boredom-core bands along with groups like the Registrators & Tyvek.

The Turnhips play a unique brand of art-punk garage/art-garage punk with a Fall/Mark E. Smith approach to repetition & agitation featuring shambling DIY pop amateurism.

      HoZac sez:
“Terd is a staggering LP of slobbering soiled savagery thrusting forth a sludgy, refreshing blast of toilet-wave toxicity.”

Limited to 400 on black vinyl, 150 on gold, another great buy, imo.

    5. Nicely mate. It's always a pleasure to flesh out the bones of a band's story, especially when they make a noise that good.

    6. Yo, Richie...

This is a compilation of three Liquid Liquid 12"s plus live recordings & unreleased tracks. Only had this in FLAC. Didn’t take the time to convert it. You can do what you want with it.
