December 31, 2025 The Rootsman John Leo Bolloten stepped away from performing his beloved Roots music which he had embraced since moving to Bradford, England in 1983 & working at the Roots Record Shop where he got the nickname The Rootsman.
I have shared many releases & live music from The Rootsman over the years. Somehow this release from his Third Eye Music label fell into the Overflow.
Pachakuti is El Jethoor. El Jethoor has remixed various Rootsman tracks (“Intifada”, “We nah Ramp”, & more). He appeared with The Rootsman on the song “Luxor” on the Third Eye Dimensions album which I shared last Dubtember here. For the Pachakuti project El Jethoor is joined by Lessur Nawaab, giving this entire recording a deep Afro/Indian flavor. The whole thing is recorded & mixed by The Rootsman.

Thanks NØ! It's a Rootsman morning. Distant Voices is sumptuous and atmospheric. Good stuff! I've queued up the rest of The Rootsman for this morning's inspiration. Third Eye Dimension did not disappoint, and now I'm journeying Into the Light!
ReplyDeleteI see that you are listening to these in (reverse) order, but check out Rebirth when you get the chance. My absolute favorite.
DeleteRebirth was worth the wait. So good I listened to it again before starting the La Conexión. So much amazing music! Thanks NØ!
DeleteGlad you liked it. As I said, it is my fvorite. The perfect blending of two units I really admire: The Disciples & The Rootsman. Thanks & stay well.
