Dubtember 20 - Upright Dub Tradition

Here are two by the unlikely duo of Nat Birchall & All Breadwinner. 

 

Birchall is a self taught tenor saxophonist from Chorley, Lancashire. His sound is rural north England meet free jazz meets reggae.

Nat sez:
        "I aim for a sound that conjures up vistas of sunrises and wide open landscapes."

 

 

Al Breadwinner was born Al Redfern in Manchester, UK. He is a reggae / Dub producer, studio engineer, & multi-instrumentalist. He started the project The Breadwinners to create traditional 70s style Jamaican reggae / Dub that he recorded & mixed at his home studio, The Bakery, using vintage reel-to-reel tape machines. Al plays almost all the instruments himself on his recordings including drums, bass, guitar, organ, & flute while producing & mixing in an authentic, "old-skool" analog way.

Both of these releases were recorded during Al’s collaborations with Nat. Their joint efforts produced these roots & Dub albums.
