On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Outstanding Debts...Playing the Nelson Bill

Frenz of NSS Richie Muster recently let me know about some dead links for some Nelson Bills I had paid in the past. I tried to fix those up. That was just another reminder that I hadn't played my past due Bills in quite some time. So it's about time to play my Nelson Bill & get that out of the way. Think I'll make a double playment to avoid the extra late fees.

On his Dreamsville website, Bill sez:
"Custom Deluxe is an album of guitar instrumentals issued in a one-off print run on the Universal Twang label. The album was one of three simultaneous released albums, issued at the start of the Be Bop Deluxe and Beyond tour. At the end of the tour the album was sold exclusively through S.O.S. Custom Deluxe sold out within 12 months of its release, and Nelson retired the Universal Twang label with this release."

On his Dreamsville website, Bill sez:
"Orpheus in Ultraland is an album of mainly vocal pieces issued exclusively for Nelsonica ‘05 on the newly created Discs of Ancient Odeon label. Due to problems with delivery of the artwork, Nelsonica 05 attendees were issued copies of the album in a plain jewel case with the artwork distributed by post on 23 November. The remaining 250 or so copies were available with complete artwork at the merchandise desk on Nelson’s 6 November UK tour. After the tour, the small number of copies that remained were sold through SOS. Within a day or so these were snapped up. On November 28 an announcement was made that the album had completely sold out."

Alleluia to this! Today's the day i have an unpleasantly intrusive medical examination, so this will make some fine compensation for that nastiness. Thank you very much, NØ.

    1. Don't have. While I've got you here, a question. Why do you frequent NSS? The music I share doesn't seem o be your style & the stuff you request I definitely don't listen to or share, Just wondering.

    2. Ok, I understand your curiosity. The truth is, I don't just visit NSS for the music, but also for the vibe of the blog. I usually listen to part of what you share before placing an order. I like discovering new things, even if they're not always my style. Sometimes what I share or request is more out of exploration or curiosity than personal taste. Thanks for sharing your stuff too, though; every little bit helps.

    3. Thanks for taking the time to answer. I often have folks that frequent this dump that don't really fit in with the music I share. I as often wonder just what attracts them. Since you & I communicate on a quiet regular basis, I thought I'd take a chance & ask. I'm glad you honor this back-water blog with your presence & I always find your requests a fun challenge. Glad to have a little insight into the why of your friendship. I'm especially thrilled that you enjoy the vibe. Peace, brother.

  5. To be clear, regarding what you share at the time, I usually take the time to listen as the tracks run, there are always fragments of choruses or tablatures from the same musicalization and this creates a kind of loop without pause, which in a certain way I usually make requests through this medium. Honestly, your space has this raw, unfiltered vibe that's hard to find—it feels real, and that's what pulls me in. Even if the music isn't always my usual jam, the energy you put out there is magnetic. I like the spirit of the blog, that air of an unpretentious refuge, where you feel like music matters more than appearances. And if my visits or my unusual requests contribute in any way, then I'm happy to contribute to the beautiful chaos. Keep doing what you do—it's a gift to the rest of us lurking in the digital shadows. Thank you for the space and for receiving what I ask with such openness. Peace always, brother.

    1. There is much more Bill Nelson scattered around this chicken coop. All of it well worth the listen. & in response to an earlier query on your part, Spring is finally rearing its head around here, none too soon. All's as well as allowed by law.
