Talk about a concept band..
A few months after bassist Paul D'Amour left Tool, he joined Chris Pitman, a keyboardist, & L.A. alt/rock band Failure members Ken Andrews & Greg Edwards. The four decided their music would be restricted to covering songs by famous bands active in the 1970/80s.
They chose their name...Replicants. But for them Replicants was not a reference to P.K. Dick but to a bastardized verision of "replicate", alluding to the band's choice to be "a tribute band". Wow, what a concept.
