On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Dog Day Afternoon

The days between July 3rd & August 11 this year are the dog days of summer. This afternoon they've been hounding me.

The dog days are these hot, sultry days of summer historically following the rising of the star system Sirius (known colloquially as the "Dog Star"). Greek astrology connected the dog days with heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad dogs, & bad luck. They are now taken to be the hottest, most uncomfortable part of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

Well the raging fevers & howling mad dogs have been plaguing me big time so I'll dump some Planet Dog on you to start out August, see if I can appease my troubled mind. Those damn dogs, this afternoon they've been on my trail.

Before I hit the Planet, how about a little slaughter...

  2. This band takes me back. I used to - and still do - love the immediate, 'in yer face' attack of their 'Where Have All The Boot Boys Gone?" 12". And the Hawkwindy guitar soloing on "Dame To Blame", though it shouldn't work, does so, perfectly. Ah, happy daze, when all my joints were supple and sleep was a chore...
