On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

I Feel so Justified

During the month of Mauz I shared some of the KLF. I had plenty of Overflow from these crazies, & much of it isn't even directly from them, but from die-hard KLF fans, who are even crazier, it seems.

Let's start off with a few official releases. From the earliest days, before the KLF had evolved from the JAMs, here's a history lesson from the Timelords themselves. Justified (& Ancient)...

The JAMs aka The Timelords - The History of the JAMs aka the Timelords,

I've explained before about the Brit Awards & the pulling of their back catalogue. Following those events, fans feared losing the greatness of the band to the whims of the music industry & stepped up to do their part. Thus the Arkives...

Arkive was a series of unofficial CD-Rs made by fans of The KLF (starting with Mike Dutton), in order to help other fans collect extended & hard-to-find mixes. They were marketed among fan clubs, fanzines, magazines, & mailing lists mainly in the 1990s (starting in 1994, according to Lazlo's discography) & 2000s. The first edition of Arkive 5 (the final Arkive) contained the same tracks as the unofficial release The Lost Sounds of Mu Vol. II. Around 2013, Jams23 compiled a new version with different tracks.

It should be noted that the "Arkive Collection" image used for this series is a fake boxset graphic used for a bittorrent distribution of CD-R rips; there was no physical box with all 5 releases. The  original copies came with white, yellowish, or coloured inserts.

C’est la Vie

I've done two mega-shares of the great Woody Dumas' C'est la Mort catalogue. While generating those shares I gathered a couple items by bands on C'est la Mort that were released on other labels.

The first is by one of the top-shelf C'est la Mort bands, Area. This is their debut release, a cassette on Office Records from 1986, two years before they would join up with Woody...

I've shared the works of 4Hero several times before (once as Jacob's Optical Stairway). They are a band that I listen to a lot & had quite a pile of material in Ye Olde Overflow, under 4Hero & many other Noms de Musique (Tom & Jerry; Waterproof: Project A-KO; & many more). Here are a few that I think everyone should really enjoy.

Satori in Pooles (to Paraphrase Kerouac)

Finally I get to let some air outta this overinflated Overflow folder.

In July 2022 I shared SoCal band Drowning Pool here. I began the shares with their Untitled (commonly known as the Bloody Boy) debut vinyl release on Italian label Viva. So when it came around to sharing Satori, because it repeated many of the tracks on Untitled, I didn't bother with it at the time.

Visitors provided links to Mumbles & āc'orn in the comments (both post-Drowning Pool ventures with DP alum that I had mentioned in the write-up), so I guess I should finally share Satori, as it does contain several previously unshared tracks.

Slipping Some Tongue

Unplanned share, this came up when I shared Spring Heel Jack.

Mooz mentioned Valentina Magaletti.

Then I mentioned Holy Tongue.

Then FlaccusMUC mentioned he’d like some Holy Tongue (& he doesn't even listen to Dub).

Then Mooz shared a link for Holy Tongue - Deliverance & Spiritual Warfare

Now I'm going to share these before I set off on the rest of the Overflow folder.

Holy Tongue began as a studio collaboration between percussionist Valentina Magaletti & producer Al Wootton. With three critically acclaimed EPs behind them they then transitioned into a live trio with the addition of Susumu Mukai on bass. Their high energy live sets invoke the experimental Dub of On-U-Sound, the frenetic rhythms of 23 Skidoo, Liquid Liquid, & ESG. Psychedelic, free-form, high energy, spiritual Dub-dance music.

Holy Tongue conjure ecstatic, body-moving ritual through psychedelic Dub, Magaletti's raw percussion, & over-all post-punk spirit. The trio light up the stage with hypnotic, high-energy improvisation melding cosmic jazz freedom with cavernous low-end bass, presenting a kinetic, genre-dissolving live show that channels pure momentum.

Holy Tongue's live performances are known for their mesmerizing intensity, often highlighting their spontaniety & reflecting their deep roots in experimental sound. Their ability to mix varying influences makes these live shows truly immersive, distinctive experiences.

Here are the first three EPs from the duo...

Before We Sleep

I have one last request from FlaccusMUC. He was having such a good time in the month of Decambier. After I shared Sleep Research Facility, he was wondering if I had some harder to find releases: Dead Weather Machine & Dead Weather Machine Re-Heat...

I have made this first share one single track as to remove the unflattering, distracting track breaks which simply interrupt the flow of this magnificent soundscape. I shorthened the 3m+ dead air before the final untitled soundbite. Re: Heat was already one single track.

Fungi Porchini

Here's the second round of requests from Mauxuam. That oh so funky mushroom, Funki Porcini...

James Braddell is Funki Porcini. Though born in London, he abandoned his Kings Court squat at the age of nineteen for the new environs of America. He arrived in Los Angeles with only three hundred dollars to his name. He took a menial labor job to survive, stocking shelves in a Westwood department store. When he had earned enough money, he hitch-hiked to San Francisco. Once in San Francisco, he bought a saxophone & moved into the Residents' old warehouse, where Snakefinger was still living. San Francisco had an active post punk scene of radical experimentation. It was there that Porcini started his journey in music. Although rubbing shoulders with such luminaries as Mark Pauline / Survival Research Laboratories, Monte Cazzaza, Factrix, & a host of other underground artists, Porcini decided to head to New York with two friends.

Porcini lived in the East Village with new found Australian friend Graeme Revell of the band SPK. He enjoyed NYC but eventually moved back to England, then a brief stop-over in Berlin, then on to Italy where he remained for 10 years making music for film & television, establishing his 9Lazy9 label with Keir Fraser.

Making connections with UK label Ninja Tune, Porcini returned to England. He set up his studio The Uterus Goldmine & recorded his first album Hed Phone Sex

The Death of Elvis

Frenz of NSS Mauxuam (featured in the October Month of Mauz) requested on the Musick S: Sandals share a couple of projects that I am now happy to be able to get to with enough time to do an adequate job. For the next two shares I’'ll be hitting those requests.

First off is Death in Vegas, the electronic rock project of one Richard Fearless (Richard Maguire) with Steve Heller at the outset. Originally called Dead Elvis, they were pressured by Graceland to change their name. Dead Elvis became the name of their first full-length.

This one isn't a request, but a suggestion from Frenz of NSS Mooz. When I shared Spring Heel Jack - Disappeared, he commmented about the transition period releases of SHJ. Treader was the release following Disappeared, much in the same musical mode. Thanks Mooz.

This one contains two bonus tracks not on the 1999 original, taken from 1999s The Sound of Music EP...

More Suicide

The other half of the Suicide Brothers was none other than Martin Reverby more commonly known as Martin Rev. Born in uptown NYC & raised in the Bronx, Martin was involved in the mid-to-late 60s Greenwich Village, NYC scene. Martin & Alan Vega started working on experimental improv music around 1967. When Martin's avantgarde jazz band Reverend B called it quits in the mid 70s, Martin & Alan (Bermowitz) Vega formed the duo Suicide.

These are cassette recordings Martin made between 1973 - 1985 which were the years slightly prior to Suicide self-titled up until just before Ghost Riders release.

Excruciating Nads Torture

Next up is a request from Frenz of NSS Richard.

Also from the Month of Mauz. I shared some KLF which included "3am Eternal (live from the 1992 BRIT Awards)" with Extreme Noise Terror.

Richard sez:
"Now would be a good time to post some ENT. Their Peel session, and split album with Chaos UK and the Holocaust in your Head are worthy of a re-presentation."

Well, I'm gonna share a slightly different set. The repetition of songs between the three he mentioned is quite heavy, many of the same Extreme tunes on all three. The Peel Sessions seemed a great overview of their work & although most of the ENT tracks on the Chaos UK split are repeated, I wanted to share the Chaos UK side for sure, so I skipped Holocaust in Your Head, which was once more many of the same titles & substituted Damage 381 which contains completely different tracks. Hope that's okay, Richard.

There are several versions of Peel Sessions: the original 7 song 1988 release on Strange Fruit; the 14 song 1990 reissue from Strang Fruit, & the 22 song Extreme Noise Terror self-released. I am sharing the self-released band version here.

Frenz of NSS FlaccusMUC requested Omniverse by J.G. Thirlwell when I was sharing some Foetus during the Month of Mauz.

Glad to oblige, sorry for the delay.

This is JG Thirlwell (Foetus) using the Xordox moniker, his second release as Xordox (the first being 2017s Neospection). On this release JG expands the Xordox pallette into the realms of science fiction, crime noir, & film scores.
