On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Alien Probes

For the past few weeks I've been receiving communications from deep space. I'll be listening to my ClipSport lying in bed at night...the hour of the wolf...just waiting for nepenthe to do its thing. Then whatever musick I'm listening to squelches out, then weird white noise static, then a series of alien transmissions from the Planet Dog, sent out back in 1995 but because of the vastness of space & the speed of sound, only arriving here now. They were an oracle. I started recording them on my player & I'll share them now with you...

Various - Transmissions from the Planet Dog 2xCD, Planet Dog 113-2, 1995.

    1. Great to hear your tablet is firing on a few cylinders at least. Your reply came through kinda strange. Two part with slightly different text. Just glad you're still hanging in there & most welcome to the Planet Dog.

    1. The Megadog organistation began with a group of over 20 friends (primarily Michael Dog & Bob Dog with Sleeping Dog Johnny) who put on a regular club night at an obscure venue in North London (starting at the Moonlight Club, West Hampstead). Following seven tentative one-off psychedelic events staged between November 1984 & 1986 under the moniker of Dead Dog Promotions, the group finally settled on the name Club Dog.

The acts for the Dead Dog shows included: Treatment & the Kevin Staples at the Moonlight Club; Criminal Tango, the Dragees at the Greyhound, Fulham Palace Road; the Cannibals & the Bludgen at the Temple of Doom, Oakleigh Road; Webcore, Ozric Tentacles, & Zodiac Mindwarp/the Love Reaction at Cricklewood Hotel; another show with Zodiac Mindwarp/the Love Reaction supported by Underground Zero & Treatment at Haringay T.U. Centre, Brabant Road; Cardiacs, Out Vile Jelly, & Jack of Hearts again at Haringay T.U. Centre; & the final Dead Dog Promotions show with Treatment, Ozric Tentacles, & Astrogone Arglegargle at the Hampstead Old Town Hall, Belsize Park. Other entertainment at these events included films by Alan Dean & various multi-media such as The Alien Cabaret, mud wrestling, Hassid Casualty Light Show, & DJ Monkey Pilot

The newly named Club Dog ran as a weekly multimedia event featuring a myriad of live acts, performance artists, films, projections, & DJ's for 7 years from September 1986 before slowly mutating between 1991 & 1993 into the travelling psychedelic dance music extravaganza Megadog.

The first Club Dog show was at the Haringay T.U. Centre on September 26, 1986 featuring Ozric Tentacles, Out Vile Jelly, Phoney American Accents with Travel Trance Sound System & Hassid Casualty Light Show. From spring 1988 until January 1994 Club Dog took up residence at the Sir George Robey pub in Finsbury Park. One outstanding show was held at the Electric Ballroom on October 24, 1990 with African Headcharge & Noah House of Dread.

The legendary Megadog live electronica, dance music, & performance event toured venues all over the UK & Europe throughout the 1990s hosting performances by many of the era's key electronic music innovators. Megadog performed every month at residencies at The Rocket in North London & the Manchester Academy with performances from Megadog stalwarts Dreadzone, Eat Static, System 7, with sets by Astralasia, Orbital, Sheep on Drugs, Meatbeat Manifesto, Bark Psychosis, Dub Syndicate & the On-U Sound Posse (too many to list) as well as classic sets from Megadog's DJs Michael Dog & Templehead along with MC T Bag.

Hope that refreshes a bit. Thanks, MarkyD
