Note: All of you familiar with my personal brand of psychosis have probably figured out by now that for next month all the shares will be prompted by the compilations I’m sharing this month. I’m going to try to select one artist from each comp to share something from their catalogue. If anyone wants to reply at any time with your requested artist share, I will try to share those as well (or just those Frenz choices, should the entire world flip upside down & there were magickally enough requests, I could skip or pair with mine). I just sez...
The spice of life,

My request for next month would be The Band of Holy Joy. I have heard very little of their extensive catalog, and don't know much about their lengthy history. They are still making records. I did a quick search here, and they haven't been featured yet at NSS.
ReplyDeleteTwo minds... For me, Johny Brown of The Band of Holy Joy is right up there with Jackie Leven & Mark Stewart in my pantheon. There will be a career spanning cross section coming up in a few days. Thanks for all the kind comments here & elsewhere.
DeleteBack then, I bought a few things of the label before, Pleasently Surprised
ReplyDeleteYou bet we've got something against you, which contains some highlights of the mid 80s https://www.discogs.com/master/83076-Various-You-Bet-Weve-Got-Something-Against-You
They also released Test Dept tape Ecstacy under Duress. Both Cathexis and Pleasently Surprised are great labels.
Thanks
