On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

  3. Completely off-topic
But first of all, thank you for one of my go-to blogs. Years ago you posted a few afro-pop albums. That's how I got to know this blog. I soon found out there was a lot more going on. And a lot of that was equally to my taste.
And now to the point. For years and years I am trying to get hold of music on the Opus One (Neo-classical) label
    https://www.discogs.com/label/40858-Opus-One
And lately I am frustrated that I managed to find ONE album in ten years. I don't know, my searching is not right. Some of these albums were at a library, now gone, in the mid 80s.
So, do you have any suggestions were to look
Thank you for your time, Richard

  4. First, thank you so much for the kind words & for hanging around this dump for so many years. Glad you have been able to find things to keep your interest all this time.

Second. Although neo-classical is not one of my go-to genres, I have accumulated much music from all across the spectrum of sound in my time on this orb. As for Opus One, you didn't really say what you were looking for or even give me a hint as to the ONE you have been able to get in the last ten years. I know off-hand that I have a couple Opus One releases: Tui St. George Tucker – Indian Summer (Three Microtonal Antiphons On Psalm Texts) & William Ortiz-Alvarado – 124 East 107th Street Amor, Cristal Y Piedra. Are you interested in those? I may have more but that will take some digging, so I'll wait until I hear from you before proceeding further.

I hope this was a good enough response. & thanks again for commenting & instigating this interesting conversation. I so enjoy this part of blogging.

    1. And here is Opus One Number 1. Take it and do what you want with it. Not my rip and this link is only here for a short time.

  5. Thank you for your quick respond.
The only album I have been able to download was their first release. Donald Erb/Max Schubel.

I am very interested in your three. In the USA there was also CRI (Composers Recordings Inc) and I guess quite a few more, in Germany WERGO, in The Netherlands Donemus and every country had a share of modern classical music on some label.
Free-jazz has a platform on a lot of blogs. Post WW2 chamber music has almost vanished. I know next year we celebrate the 100th year Rhapsody in Blue has premiered. But were are the celebrations for Zappa's musical daddy Varese. And I am off again into something else....

If you can, please, could you make a post of those three Opus One albums you found.

    Thank you, Richard

    1. I only have the two I listed in my repy, for sure. I will look around for more in my various folders after I take care of the two. I have to dig them out & check the sounds & tags, then upload them. Give me a couple days, thanks.

  7. Ok Thank You, that was quick.
I guess you can experience it for yourself, how difficult it is to find even 10% of their output. (that is roughly 20 albums). And how much is slipping into obscurity. I know few blogs that deal with 60s to 90s classical music. Wolf5th is one.
I am pleased with your delivery. Many Thanks
    Richard
