I've shared The Rootsman before here & here as well as numerous links in comments that you'd have to follow the trail & pick out the links for yourself if you're interested.
The Rootsman is Edinburgh, Scotland born John Leo Bolloten, musician & DJ based out of Bradford, England. The Rootsman is a radio host, Razor X Productions Sound System wizard, founder of Third Eye Misic, former Muslimgauze collaborator, & all around musical genius.
He has recently announced on his Bookface page that he is retiring from music at the end of this year, so if you get a chance to see him do his thing before then, I highly advise you do so.
On this one, all tracks The Rootsman except track 1 - Oochi, track 5 with Monument, track 9 with Dayjah & the Disciples, track 11 with the Disciples, track 15 - Strongpoint, & track 16 - Dub Chandra. Produced by the Rootsman.

Once again you provide a much needed, highly welcome lesson in 'music that Muster is profoundly deficient in'. For which, i am as ever your humble servant, etc etc.
ReplyDeleteMost excellent, thank you. The Rootsman has always been a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteSad to here he is pulling the plug on an illustrious career. Love them Roots.
ReplyDeleteHi, totally off-topic. I am looking for any of these
ReplyDeleteThe first four are the early 1990s releases

also the 2017/2018 releases
Aki Takahashi Plays Hyper Beatles Volume II (I have a webrip of volume I)
The tracks on the 2017/2018 albums are rerecordings of tracks of the first four,
Thanks
Richard, maybe someone who visits here can help you out. I have 1990 Hyer Beatles at 192Kbps only. Good luck with this.
DeleteNØ...He has recently announced on his Bookface page that he is retiring from music at the end of this year....this is a breaking new for me.The Rootsman and Russ D are two of my favorite in the UK electro music scene. We have shared many music events accros Europe from the early 90 s till to the early decade of the 2000.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Afro. Both are faves of mine as well, as you know. Tell us some tales of the good days.
DeleteIt s really sad to hear he s retiring. He have so much stuff to deliver, and he has so many followers in Europe and all around the world....I wish him all the best,if it have anything to do with health,to recover very fast...I love his approach of the dub music along with Russ D ,they went far beyond the horizon and it s makes their productions amazing...UK as a whole did preserve the world dub heritage and take the standard very high...
DeleteWould you be so kind to share this one, 192 is so much better than nothing.
ReplyDeleteHere you go my friend. Hope we hear from others about the others...

Thank you. I am making a special about high-brow, arty-farty, upperclass, fluxus-de luxes kind of covers and here are some great ones. Bertram Turetzki did a Mingus (I have) and any more suggestions are welcome)
DeletePhilip Glass did Bowie's Heroes LP (that did not turn out well) Mal Waldron doing Satie swings as the proverbial tit
Thanks NØ! Thanks for more from The Rootsman. I love me a dub-middle eastern crossover mix.
ReplyDeleteThe Rootsman is always a favorite around here. Couldn't pass up his Echo Beach offering while doing these. Thanks, brother.
