On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Singles World Cup Finals: Round 13

Leader Board
ACR                   25
The Shamen      15
Dreadzone         17
Utah Saints        13

The World Cup Committee has declared that all partial scores will be rounded up to the next whole number to avoid confusion. From now on there will be no splitting of votes allowed. Only two more Rounds after todays play. Unless there is an outpouring of votes for other teams, the conclusion is likely  Certain.

    1. Thanks, diego. What a great track. Making for my weekend.

  3. The Shamen from the early days. I like this for its simplicity, not much variation in the mixes but that's fine.
Dreadzone doing well without vocals on this one. I've always been drawn to Drum Club remixes, DJ evolution does well here too. The Dub mix is pretty well done for this troop. This is what I most associate with Utah Saints, like 90's aerobic workout music at a faster tempo. The remixes are a good update keeping this from feeling too dated. A Certain Ratio giving off a mid-80's Severed Heads vibe IMO.

Tough call on this one. Each has its merits (yeah even the Utah Saints). Can I complicate things more and give 1/3 vote to Shamen, Dreadzone, and ACR?

    1. I guess you didn't notice at the top the note from the World Cup Committee saying they would no longer accept partial scores. Since they rounded the three up for That Bloke from yesterday, I'll try to slide yours in as one each for the three, see if it flies. Thanks for the comment, brother.

    2. Yep, glazed over those details, sorry brother. If I'm only allowed one vote then, its for Dreadzone.

  4. The Shamen. 3 fluffy, nondescript tracks to start with some sort of abomination to finish.

Dreadzone with Fight the Power... Immediately brings to mind the Public Enemy song that shares the same name... Different continents, different struggles, same message. The Public Enemy song is rightly a classic. Although not in the same league, Dreadzone have brought a strong set of tracks to this round, the Drum Club mix being the weakest.

Utah Saints. If this song had a face it'd be one that you'd want to slap.

Two more classics from ACR. I prefer the mix of Wild party that appears on the album 'Looking for a Certain Ratio', but otherwise it's all good ACR funk

Dreadzone for the win today, 'cos I'm not allowed a tie and I'm in the mood for a bit of bass.

    1. Thanks, That Bloke, for your daily analysis. One more for the Dread ones. But don't be slappin' the Saints around.

  5. I didn't like the ACR tune, so I stopped there... But Reading the comments, I'll have a Go at Dreadzone !
