On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

From the Ground Up

Sounds from the Ground is a Downbeat/Dub duo of Elliot Jones & Nick Woolfson from London.  The two met in a little backstreet studio in Brixton early 1994. They started writing together with the aim of making deep Dubby trip-hop experimental electronic music. Their first release was the 1994 single "Triangle" on Zion Train's Universal Egg label.  This was followed by their debut full-length Kin, also on Universal Egg.

Nick & Elliot continued honing their skills over the next few years, working their trademark bass heavy sound.  In 1999 they released Mosaic on their own label Upstream Records.  Mosaic is a collection of tunes written between 1996 & 1998 recorded at Jamm Studios, London.

The duo has been making great music for more than thirty years with releases on Universal Egg, Waveform (US), Nettwerk & Interchill (Canada), their own Upstream Records as well as others.
