On the Pitch Black - First of All compilation, one name that popped up several times was International Observer. International Obsever is primarily Tom Bailey, musician & ex-lead singer of the British band the Thompson Twins. Following the demise of the Thompson Twins Bailey began producing the New Zealand band Stellar. He moved to New Zealand to work with them. The success of this collaboration allowed him to focus on his own music, which had moved into the world of Dub music, or chill music, as it is sometimes referred to in New Zealand. It was there that he met & became friends with Michael Hodgson & Paddy Free of Pitch Black. They have collaborated extensively.

And when does a deep dub dive with N0 not yield strange fruit? Not a rhetorical question, despite the horrendous mixed metaphors. The answer is "never." Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteThanks RD for the mixed metaphorical compliment.
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you get sick of posts, as long as the person who keeps dropping links keeps dropping, I'll pass along, use what you will

Keep 'em coming. You sent a couple repeats that I left off & a few of the links I kept for myself.
DeleteI am a big fan of Muslimgauze & have most of Bryns's output from while he was alive. There are some gaps in all the posthumous releases as there are too many for me to keep up with. All these links are things that I have but am excited to share with visitors here. I just never had the time or made the effort to share here.
Thank you for grabbing them & leaving them here. I've just been sticking them in the comments where you leave them & hope others find them. Because I leave the decryptions codes in my comments, they get read quite regularly.
