Wowzers ... thanks chief ...
ReplyDeleteI grabbing the A.C. Marias and Ear Trumpet. Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteBrian
Enjoy & hoppy holly daze.
DeleteThanks a lot, Nate! I used to be a massive fan of Wire, nowadays I think I prefer Bruce's solo stuff. This is a more than welcome reminder to check out his albums.
ReplyDeleteI still really enjoy Wire, but Bruce has some of the best, for sure. These ar some good ones but my fave I believe is Duet Emmo (anagram of Dome/Mute) with Wiremate Lewis as well as Daniel Miller of Mute Records. Thanks, dear friend.
DeleteCriminy Jiminy, Crimbles has come early! I gots to say, NØ, thank ee very much. My stocking overfloweth, and there's still 2wks to go. May your season be merry (hic!) indeedy!
ReplyDeleteCriminy Jiminy, Crimbles is early this year! I gots to say, thank ee very much, NØ, and may your season be full of liquid cheer (hic!)
ReplyDeleteWell I guess my usual hoppy holly daze applies well (hic) to the (2) comment(s) above. Glad I could usher in a bit of early Crazemas. Best to youreslf & family. Been trying to spread the cheer to one & all.
ReplyDeleteErm, crikey, jittery fingers!
ReplyDeleteTop notch sounds...many thanks.
ReplyDeleteMost welcome. We got Richie to thank for these.
DeleteWire kicks ass and provides strange trips since i was fourteen-
ReplyDeleteAt 56 they're almost family for what they gave us in terms of creativity.
Already have these records in one or other format but great to have them displayed for newcomers.
Epyphany is waiting for some.
Cheers
Diego
An anonymous commentor a few comments down mentioned an Ear Trumpet 12" single Being a Dog is for Life. Do you happen to have? Willing to share?
DeleteHello I have it mp3 but don't know how to share without exposure.
DeleteIn case you are not aware of Cupol's "Like this for ages" Gilbert and Lewis released this sonic promenade at 4ad by 1980.
Maybe some readers are eager to dig for it.

I'm sure I'll enjoy these -- thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, MrDave. Enjoy.
DeleteEar Trumpet is an old favourite, good to hear it again. Amongst others, Steve Severin is on this. Ear Trumpet also had a 12" that I never managed to track down.
ReplyDeleteYou got me with Manscape, I don't know if I still have the album but I can't play vinyl these days anyway. The A.C. Marias is a classic I thought I had and so on. Wire's 154 will always be my favourite of theirs (easy all time top 10) but there are a lot of great albums put out by various configurations of band members. Many thanks for this post, a lovely early Crimble prezzie.
ReplyDeleteGreat to know I can provide other versions of well-loved music. Have a hoppy holly Daze.
DeleteCupol's "Like this for ages" also lurks in the shadows as a Wire side- like change of angle.
ReplyDeleteGilbert and Lewis at wingspan opening.
When I was doing 4AD in April this year I shared Like This for Ages (April 2) as well as G&L's 8 Times (April 10). Thanks for the mention.
DeleteOh my Alzheimer's kicking the door.
DeleteA good chance to forget who's ruling our respective homelands.
Always check the bright side to acquire some bearings, dear old sailor.
Bill Laswell can tell you
