Joe Gibbs & the Professionals/Sly & Robbie - Evolution of Dub Volume 4: Natural Selection, Greensleeves Records GRE2028, 2009. 

 

 

Volume 4 - This edition of the Evolution of Dub profiles releases from Joe Gibbs & the Professionals during the years 1976-1984. This includes: State of Emergency (1976); Majestic Dub (1979); African Dub Chapter 5 (1984); & Sly & Robbie Syncopation (1982).

The great thing about this volume is that Errol Thompson is all over it, regardless of the changing personnel within the Professionals who were the house band for Joe Gibbs' studio. Errol was involved in the production, arrangement, engineering, & mixing. The result is that these Dubs have his trademark depth of sound.

    The sound on these is amazing. Unless I did something stupid in decompressing, the "Negrea Love Dub" 7za file is missing tracks 4 and 5. Thanks for posting all this dub!
