This release is the result of Island Records finally reissuing Sly & Robbie's long out-of-print Raiders of the Lost Dub. To celebrate the occassion in the proper manner, they added another album's worth of "New School" Dub from the likes of Mad Professor, Jah Shaka, Dub Syndicate, Alpha & Omega.
The old school Dub such as Sly & Robbie's dubbed-up versions of Balck Uhuru & the Viceroys riddims seem equally matched to material such as Alpha & Omega's "One Prayer" & "Rastafari" or Dub Syndicate's "What Happened?". It is a masterful juxtaposition between old-school rhythms & new-school technology. This is a listener's handbook on the essential of Dub old & new.
