This is the end of the ongoing series of Glasgow Noise bands, at least for now.
This final instalment features the band DeSalvo.
Desalvo formed from the ashes of several Glasgow/Edinburgh bands: Allan Stewart (future Idlewild guitarist); Alex Grant (former PH Family & part-time Idlewild bassist); original vocals - Fraser Lumsden (former PH Family vocalist); replacement vocals - P6 (former Stretchheads & PH Family vocalist); & Richie Dempsey (former Stretchheads drummer).
Desalvo was originally strongly influenced by US post-hardcore bands such as Helmet & Tad. They signed to Mogwai’s label Rock Action Records. Their style has been compared to The Jesus Lizard. Listen & decide for yourself.

Any band that bears favourable comparison with Jesus Lizard belongs in my collection. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteNot sure how accurate, in my opinion, that comparison is but from past comments you've made, think you might like this anyhow.
DeleteWhat a great band photo! The Scottish brand of noise rock Dada madness is a world of its own.
