On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Don't Be Such a Phag, Art

I decided to brave the Wilds the other day & started going through a folder I have called “Musick that Needs Work”. That means anything from cleaning up the sound to fixing the tags to getting the art work, whatever. So far I’m still in the ‘A’s (where I got the previous post American Taboo). Guess I’ll just keep on in alphawhatical order for a while longer (until boredom sets in or my attention span is maxed).

Now going by the handle Len von Speedcult, Len Puch is a metal fabricator, artist, & a musician. He likes making things & that's what he has done with his life: he has made things.

First he made music, in bands with names like Country Bob & the Bloodfarmers, a psychobilly/cowpunk band from the early 80s. They released one album on the Manster label.

Then he formed Snake-Out. This punk-gore-psychobilly-trash rock outfit created the template for the Detroit Garage sound. Modern-day hipsters might glorify the "old days" of Detroit Garage by name-checking as the "originators" of that scene the Gories. Well, Len produced their first album on his Wanghead with Lips label (he also produced the first album by Nine Pound Hammer).

Snake-Out is: Len Puch – guitar & vocals; Greg Mitchell – bass; & Tim Reagan – drums & yelps.

    1. I just don't understand how anyone can NOT like Art Phag. They always manage to entertain this simple mind. "Green peas, canned potatoes, mushy tomatoes, & little green things that crawl on your leg".

  3. Thank you for posting these! I have the other Snake Out (in the fake pizza box sleeve) and the other Art Phag (in the hand painted sleeve) from way back when. I saw Snake Out open for Bad Manners in the mid-80s... they were really great. Len is very funny too:)
