On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Dubtember 28 - Dub to Cure the Weak of Heart

Here's one from Joe Jackson...not that Joe Jackson, but Ranking Joe, Kingston Jamaica born DJ. Ranking Joe came out of the original Jamaican Sound System culture. He went to school with Winston McAnuff, U Brown, & Earl Sixteen. They often entertained the Dancehall crowds together. Joe's big break in international terms came in 1980, when the Ray Symbolic Hi Fi Sound System, with which he was then the resident deejay, toured the United Kingdom. His UK stint helped raise his profile & with the heightened attention, his album Weakheart Fadeaway became a major seller for Greensleeves Records.

Ranking Joe - Weakheart Fadeaway remastered reissue, Greensleeves Records GREWCD2, 2004.

Reb, sorry about the edit on your comment. I have Holding it Down shelved for a future post so I didn't want to muffle my own thunder. I left this link for all, though, along with my thanks.

This is great, my previous exposure was his M Records collab with Ryan Moore (Twilight Circus) for World in Trouble / World in Dub. Nice to hear this earlier work.

Think I first came across Ranking Joe from his work with Ryan Moore, as well. This is also really goMooz.

Thanks NØ! I know my heart could use some encouragement! Perhaps Rankin Joe is just the ticket!
