On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Dub September - 15th

Dub Specialist is a name used for a series of Dub LP releases from Studio One throughout the 70s. These limited edition albums were mixed down by a number of engineers over the decade, including Sylvan Morris, Syd Bucknor & Overton "Scientist" Brown, all under the auspices of legendary producer, sound system pioneer, & music entrepreneur, Clement "Coxsone" Dodd.

    1. Thank you so much. To be name checked with HTD is surely an honor. Mr. Holland has been memorializing the expansive career of the late great Lee Perry. I had dreamed up Dub September before Scratch's passing, but with that sad event I became even more sure of doing this thing. I wanted to show the depth & breadth of DUB just as HTD celebrates the depth & breadth of one of the best Dubsters ever. There can never be too much Dub. Dubbed out is blissed out.

  3. Such a wonderful record... Plays nicely together with Sylvan Morris' "Reggae Workshop". Man, those albums are just so cool. Any idea who's vocals on "Taurus Dub"? They are barely audible, but sound great. Dub september, yeah...

  4. Thanks for the comment. Coxsone Dodd & Studio 1 were top-notch. Albums & tracks accredited to Dub Specialist are hard to pin-point individual engineers or performers, but I believe "Taurus Dub" is based on the riddim of "I'm Still in Love with You" by Alton Ellis???
