Augustus Pablo, born Horace Swaby, is probably best known as the man who turned a children's plastic toy, the melodica, into an instrument of inspirational sound. Using his beloved melodica & making use of eerie minor-key melodies, Pablo built up an impressive body of work during his lifetime. He succumbed to health problems in 1999, having suffered from the nerve disorder, myasthenia gravis, for much of his life.
Ital Dub is a studio album by Augustus Pablo originally released in 1974 on the Starapple label with Tommy Cowan & Warwick Lyn replacing Clive Chin on production duties at Harry J's. The album also features King Tubby as mixing engineer, a role he would later reprise a number of times during Pablo's career. This is the 1976 Trojan reissue.
