On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Prompted by Other Blogs, Part 1

I'm always cruising around the interweb, looking for interesting music. I'll see or hear something out there that sets me on a path, a new musical journey.

I frequent Holland Tunnel Dive multiple times a week. It is a treasure trove of rare or hard to find oddities, just what I'm always looking for in my music searches.

This past Tuesday Jillem posted a compilation of Bristol, England bands issued by Emotinal Rescue who teammed up with Bristol Archive Records to showcase some Dub / Funk/ Afro sounds that had originally been released on Recreatinal Records label in 1981-82. Check it out.

Three of the four songs ever released by Scream & Dance are on the compilation. They were a band similar to one of my other favorites of that time, style, & region...Glaxo Babies. A great find. On the same comp were two songs from the band Talisman that I used to enjoy that had completely fallen off of my radar.

Talisman is a great roots rock band that are still active today. Me being a Dub fan, I have compiled a number of their Dub tracks for your enjoyment. Thanks Holland Tunnel Dive for sparking my memory.

  4. Hi NØ, that Holland Tunnel Dive blog sounds very interesting, but I took a look and can't find any download links on the site at all. Is my browser messing up or what?!

    1. Bottom left hand corner of page under Amigos de Musica is a “Click Here to Download List” button. This takes you to Jillem’s zippyshare download list. Just enter the name of the item you are looking for or peruse the list for great items.

  6. FYI, when his ZippyShare account got messed up earlier this year he started a parallel blog at https://fez1913.blogspot.com/ where he posts the same material with a direct imagenetz link in the post (click on the bullseye). Makes it a little easier so visitors may prefer using that blog as the content is identical.

    Cheers!

    1. I followed Jillem over to Fez1913 when things were going awry with zippy. Alway a got idea to have a plan B when server problems arise. Thaks for letting folks know. Somewhat easier to dl the files, but I continually peruse HTD zippylist for great treasures that I may have overlooked.

    1. Really miss Holland Tunnel Dive. Got a great deal of fine music from Jillem over the years. Jillem gave links to his archives on his last post but don't know if a lot of folks got it, so thanks so much for these links.

I've grabbed a few things from the Archive.Org lists. Really makes it easy to get items. Just find the link in the lists & direct download.

Thanks again for these. Hope everyone who see these takes advantage.
